I've lived in Rexburg for 9 years now, and Nicole grew up here, but the last time either of us went to Yellowstone was in grade school. So, a good Yellowstone trip was well overdue. We went with my good friend Tyler and his friend Hillary who was up from Utah for the weekend. The highlights:
1.) ATE ICE CREAM
Anyone who knows me well knows that I am in a committed relationship with the creamy goodness. We stopped in West Yellowstone for lunch on the way to the park and got some ice cream, while waiting for old faithful I almost spent 4 bucks on another cone, but glanced at my enlarging marriage gut and decided against it. On the way home we stopped for dinner, again in West Yellowstone, and I got some more ice cream. And we almost got some more later that night when we were bored but my healthy wife helped steer me in the direction of some grapes instead. She's good for me.

2.) PLAY DUMB GAMES
There's not a lot to do while you're waiting for Old Faithful to blow...so I made up a game. We found a knocked down tree to balance on (it was kinda bouncy), and tried to see who could balance longer on one foot. I started to loose balance so I jumped. I weigh about twice as much as tiny Nicole, so my little jump on the springy log sent her flying up in the air only to crash down hard on the tree. I felt bad and bear hugged her to keep her from hitting me.

3.) SAW BUFFALO
Or bison. There's a ton of em, but we didn't see them until the end of our tour, so when we did I got a little over excited and took a ton of pictures with Tyler's camera. I wont post them all because they're boring...but they're just cool lookin things. I don't think I've seen one since being in Kansas where I grew up. In Kansas they're all over and we keep them as pets and ride them to school. #rednecks

4.) USED A PUBLIC BATHROOM
Nicole used one. It wasn't a pretty one either...it was out in the park and had a hard "rest stop" vibe. I was so proud of her.
5.) ATE MEDIOCRE MEXICAN FOOD
We spent twice as much for tacos and pork carnitas at a mexican bus in West Yellowstone and it wasn't even almost as good as the bus in Rexburg.

6.) SPENT GOOD TIME WITH FRIENDS
We've been married for 3 months so we're still in hermit-couple mode...so sometimes it's nice to get out and do things with friends. Tyler and Hillary were fun to hang out with and put up my inappropriate jokes.

7.) SAW OLD FAITHFUL
Duh. You have to. It was worth the wait...for some reason I thought it would just shoot out for a second but it was going for like a minute or two it was pretty cool. Nicole seemed to enjoy it, and that's all I really care about.

8.) TOOK A SELFIE
When you're married so someone as gorgeous as this woman it's hard not to take pictures of her. And anytime I can document that this beautiful girl is with me...I'll do it.

9.) ENJOYED BEING WITH EACHOTHER
We both have intense work schedules sometimes so we really enjoy the time we get to spend with one another.
